Unfortunately, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) did not do enough to adequately address the rising cost of health care.  Constraining skyrocketing medical costs is the most critical—and vexing—aspect of healthcare reform.   Health care expenditures make up one-sixth of our national economy, yet they are the only purchases American consumers make on a regular basis without any regard to price.  Most Americans are conditioned to not even ask “what is the cost” when scheduling a procedure.
