Facts and Fallacies of the LIC--What You Can and Can't Do!

Dear WMAHU Member,

Please join us on September 5th at Frederick Meijer Gardens for our board year kick off breakfast meeting. We are excited to welcome Jack Bytwerk, CLU, ChFC to our meeting. Jack is President of FSI of Western Michigan has been instructing licensing and Continuing Education classes in West Michigan for years.  Jack's presentation will include reasons an agent should consider the LIC; what the LIC allows the producer to do in terms of fees versus commissions; how agents have modeled the LIC in their practices even in the small group market; and any other questions you may have. In addition, we will hear real world stories and experiences from agents who have charged fees, how this has worked out and what key items to watch for. 

This first kick off meeting will open registration and breakfast at 7:45 AM.

It will be a member only event.

Member fee: $10.

The October Meeting

October 3--The Latest on the State Exchange, Cathy Cooper, Vice President Health Alliance Administrators and Former MAHU President

The State of Michigan is wrestling with the Exchange and what it will look like.  Will it be state-run, a Federal Partnership but state controlled or totally Federal only?  Are there truths to the latest that the Federal Subsidies won’t be available through the Fed’s Exchange?  This meeting will cover the latest on all these outstanding issues. 

Agents can feel free to invite their clients to this informative event.  Member fees will be $10 and $10 per guest or $50 per table of guests.
