Helping Hands Volunteer Day

“Helping Hands”
Volunteers in Action Day III
What: Join fellow WMAHU members by serving Cherry Street Health Services in our Third Annual Spring Clean-up day. We are currently meeting with their staff to determine the site locations and projects in need of assistance this year.
Cherry Street Health Services is a local, non-profit federally qualified community health center with 10 locations in West MI serving inner city Grand Rapids and surrounding communities in Kent, Ionia, Montcalm, and Ottawa County.
Cherry Street Health Services recently merged with Touchstone innovare and Proaction Behavioral Health Alliance and together built the Heart of the City Health Center which opened in 2011, located in the Heartside District of Grand Rapids. This facility provides access to integrated mind/body care, and increased county-wide primary health care capacity for people with low-incomes.
When: Friday, May 4th from 8:00am until 1pm (depending on # of volunteers, & the weather). We’ll meet at the Wealthy Street Bakery for coffee and a bagel at 8:00am and to organize work teams.
Where: Wealthy Street Bakery first (610 Wealthy SE), then to this year’s sites.
Who: You, your physical labor, work clothes, (needed tools and supplies yet to be determined) water bottles, laughter, and volunteer attitude is needed to lend a “Helping Hand”.
