Meet the panelists:

Matt Colvin, Pharm. D. - Manager, Pharmacy Account Management

BCBSM & Blue Care Network

Matt is a Doctor of Pharmacy with over 10 years of experience in the managed care industry. Currently, he oversees the Pharmacy Account Management team of pharmacists that support Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network’s Commercial group customers in managing their prescription drug benefits. Matt also has experience with State and Federal government programs. Matt’s clinical background includes inpatient medical and surgical intensive care settings as well as oncology.

 

Marina Nikolavsky, Director of Clinical Pharmacy Operations
Health Alliance Plan

She focuses on shaping commercial formulary strategy, system configuration, and oversight of clinical utilization programs.

 

Marina is a graduate of University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and, after completing a residency program at Indiana Purdue University Health System, she joined Ascension Health system as a Drug Policy Specialist. Since joining HAP in 2009, Marina has been championing evidence-based pharmacy programs to address today’s healthcare challenges and ensure optimal clinical outcomes for HAP members.

 

 

Ellen Waalkes, Spec, Prov Strategy & Solutions Sr – Pharmacy
Priority Health

Ellen joined Priority Health in 2018, and reports to the Sr. Director of Pharmacy as part of the commercial market team. She leverages her 25 years of successful pharmaceutical sales in Michigan and her integration into the pharmacy team to work with Accountable Care Networks and Providers identifying pharmacy strategies and pulling through pharmacy initiatives. In her role she has focused on formulary alignment, price transparency, identifying outliers, and upcoming pharmacy tends to support Priority Health in providing cost-effective health care.

Andy is a Pharmacy Benefits Manager serving Self-Funded plans, as well as Med A, Hospice, and Back-Up Pharmacy. Andrew currently resides in Hart, MI, where he was raised. Following military service, Andrew began his professional career by obtaining his Bachelor's Degree from Ferris State University in Business Administration. After serving several years as an elected official, Andrew realized there is some undercurrent involving prescription drug costs. In his research, he began to realize the true cost is not where politicians often point, but in the realm of the PBM and other non-direct care entities.
